Improving customer experience on the railway

This innovation competition focused on developing integrated digital solutions and services, for both passenger and freight customers. Nine prizes were awarded under the initial competition, in three themes and a cross-over prize. Two projects were selected to proceed to the demonstration stage: predictive journey planner for multi-modal transport, and technologies for measuring and predicting train carriage occupancy and providing information to passengers, helping them to find space on the train.
