National Rail Enquiries (NRE) data feeds

Samples of data sets will be made available via the Data Sandbox+ competition subject to the following terms. By downloading the datasets you agree to the following terms:

  1. The sample datasets shall be downloaded and used solely for the purposes of preparing a bid for the RSSB Data Sandbox+ competition and for NO other purpose and/or project whatsoever;
  2. If having downloaded the datasets you decide not to submit and/or withdraw a bid to the Data Sandbox+ competition or your bid is unsuccessful you shall as soon as is reasonably practicable delete all records and/or copies made of such datasets (or parts thereof); and agree not to save, copy, and/or store any such datasets (or part thereof) on your systems and/or use for any other purpose; and
  3. Not to forward and/or disclose the datasets (or parts thereof) to any other party for any purpose


Feeds include:

  • Journey Plan Enquiries: The dataset relates to Journey Plan Enquiries from A to B

  • Visits to NRE Channels: The dataset relates to the number of visitors to NRE websites

  • User of NRE Channels: The dataset relates to the number of unique users of NRE websites

  • NRE Channels quality score data: Quality score data relates to satisfaction, dissatisfaction and recommendation data

  • NRE Apps Downloads: The dataset relates to numbers of those downloading NRE apps

  • Alerts Subs: The dataset relates to those subscribed to NRE journey alert service

  • Registrations: The dataset relates to customers joining NRE database to receive marketing communication

  • Contact centre enquiries: The dataset relates to call enquiries about journey plans, lost properties, mobility and telesales transfers

  • Customer Relations Contacts: The dataset relates to enquiries about complaints, referrals, suggestions and praise

  • Season Ticket Enquiries: The dataset relates to Journey Plan enquiries from A to B - seasonal basis

  • PDA Enquiries: The dataset relates to Journey Plan enquiries from A to B on mobile devices

  • WAP Enquiries: The dataset relates to Journey Plan enquiries from A to B on old WAP devices such as Nokia 3310

  • Free Alert SMS sent: The dataset relates to SMS alerts sent

  • Alert Email Sent: The dataset relates to chargeable email about delays

  • Alert Twitter sent: The dataset relates twitter about delays & disruptions

  • Chargeable "Text Me" SMS sent: The dataset relates to chargeable SMS about delays
